Tues 20th. Well, DJ has slipped nicely into the band and much to our surprise is out gigging with us already. OK, it's still a bit loose here and there but that was to be expected and with just a little more work it will all be fine. It's great not having to think about as much anymore, a gig is so much more relaxed , well for me any way. The diary for next year is filling up nicely with dates right through to December already. The first free date we have for next year as I write is in mid may. Crazy!!! Were already working on some new material so you'll be hearing that very soon, like this weekend if your out. If you haven't already, you must check the gig list and come along and meet DJ, he's a really cool guy and is looking forward to meeting you all soon.
Sun 13th. Been pretty busy over the last few months but October just goes billistic for some reason. New venues and some favorites it'll be bloody good fun. You'll see on the home page as well as "The Band" page that we have a new lead vocalist joining us. Say "hello" to DJ. Find out all about him here. DJ has a huge vocal range so I'm sure we will be introducing a whole load of new material very soon. There's no decision on when DJ will start joining us on stage yet as we need some time to rehearse but he'll be coming to gigs and we'll keep you updated on developements. If you hadn't notices we've put some video on Youtube, Myspace and Facebook as well as here on the website. Of course these don't have DJ with us although we plan to change that just as soon as poss. Catch you all again soon......
Mon 8th. It's been a busy few months, a good summer and some great gigs . We have a load of new material to work on and I'm really looking forward to that. Its a determined effort to bring in more recent tracks and as always we appreciate your suggestions. There are gigs already for next year and we have booking at some great music venues. The Swan in Woolston is one and the Station Tavern in Hungerford in another. Real music venues but very different crowds. We all look forward to these. We've had a few guys come a long since April as potential vocalists but nothing that has worked out so far. That might change though as there are one or two that we have been speaking too over the last couple of weeks so watch this space. Be happy Dave
Wed 1st. The search is on again for a vocalist to front the band. Male or Female just so long as you can deliver the goods. We need someone with clear strong vocals able work an audience allowing Geoff and Dave to focus on what they do best. If this is you and you can rehearse on Monday nights in Basingstoke then we want to hear from you. Other news. We've decided its time to focus on Basingstoke which is our home town after all. There are a few more pubs putting on live music at the moment and we would like to be playing in as many as we can. If you run a pub putting on live bands give us a shout, or if you know a boozer that we don't, likewise.
Fri 09th. Great news, Dave Sadd will be joining us full time on Drums after standing in with Roger over the last few months. We would like to say a BIG THANKS to Roger Taylor for helping out. His hard work really is appreciated. Derek, Geoff ,Dave and I have already started working on new material that will see us hit 2008 with at least one complete new set. So far we have stuff from Foo Fighters, Lynyrd Skynyrd Joe Bonamasa, Billy Idol, Primal Scream and maybe Nirvana to look at ,so keep an ear out. See ya soon.
Sat 10th. Just had to write to say what a great night we've just had at the Swan Woolston, Southampton. It was so cool to see you all and that you appreciated the stuff we were playing so much. Look forward to playing for you again in December. Over and out. Dave
Sat 7th. It has been a while eh. I hope I can get Geoff and Derek to write some stuff so watch this space. Still gigging hard and playing a few new venues this year. We play The Swan at Woolston, Southampton this weekend which we are looking forward to then it's back to good old Basingstoke the week after. No luck with a vocalsit yet, a few guys have been in touch but with holidays and a few other changes we haven't had the time over the last few months. We will get back to it before to long I'm sure. If you look on the pics page there's a great picture of Geoff from way back in the early seventies that's worth a look. A few new numbers in the set with a big effort to find some more going on at the moment. Why not send us some suggestions either email us or stick them on the guestbook. XXX
October 6th - Been a busy few months since July and the band is getting better and better. We had a great gig at the Railway Tavern in Hungerford at the weekend after one or two that were a bit quieter than we would have hoped. Still, I guess it happens but you do need a good crowd to work with to create a good gig. Oh and were back there the night before Xmas Eve so that should be a busy night.
Busy looking for new material again but it's so bloody difficult. If your reading this and know us at all and have have a feel for what who we are and you have some suggestions send us a mail eh!
Had a tentative foot in the water for a lead vocalist too but thats even more dificult. The search will be on going. Again, if you know someone or even think you could take the job get in touch.
Right, beer to drink and Rush are on the speakers and that means the volume must go up. Catch you again soon...... Dave
April 06. Had a slight change of plan and started working some different numbers into the list. Just to give the vocals a rest and as were such huge Peter Green fans we have decided to add Albatross to the set. We think it works as it's so different to the rest of the stuff we do. And then..... well were Cream fans too so we also threw in White room just because we love it!!!!!! And while your here, why don't you check out the Guestbook? Give us some feedback, your ideas hell, say anything you want.
Jan 06. New boy Steve Mcgrady has taken over from Lee on drums now. We are all looking forward to the New Year with a new line up. We're already working on new material with numbers from Guns 'n' Roses, Lenny Kravitz, AC/DC, Aerosmith and others. There is some original stuff in the pipeline too. The longer aim is to get this on to CD to make available at gigs. Watch this space!!
Dec 05. Were really pleased that Derek has has enjoying playing with the band so much that he is going to stick around. Lee plays his final gig with us next week for the Oxford Harley Owners Xmas Bash. At the moment it looks very likely that a guy called Steve McGrady will be taking over from Lee. Steve started playing at 13, and being XX now you can tell he has years of experience under his belt. Plenty of bookings already for next year although we want to spread our wings a bit and find some venues in the Reading area now. Any suggestions?
Oct 05.Paul has left the band. Came as a shock to us, but these things happen. Lee has also decided to step down once we have fulfilled our existing bookings for this year. Lee has some pretty heavy family commitments, so we wish him all the best with those. Jeff, and I are committed to keeping the band alive and have asked an old friend Derek Alford to stand in on bass while we get down to finding a full time replacement. Make a point of checking this man out. Now, where do we find a replacement for Lee?
Jan 05. Plenty of gigs over the next fews months, so I guess we'll be looking for some new material and introducing an old freind Jack Cooper. Jack, or JC, will be standing in as drum Dep for the dates that Lee can't fit in this year.
